Banjee Ball Foundation is a Ballroom-centered organization providing creative, educational, and career opportunities to LGBTQIA and women. What started out as a small voguing event in Los Angeles in 2013, Banjee Ball has grown to be an internationally recognized brand that opens doors and welcomes people of all backgrounds interested in becoming a part of Ballroom, one of the greatest American art forms. Created by Black transwomen in Harlem in the 1970s, Ballroom serves as a safe space for disenfranchised youth forming family house structures, and developing their creativity. Banjee Ball Foundation seeks to honor the traditions formed by generations of Ballroom members and leaders to build a vibrant and stable community. Over the years Banjee Ball Foundation has partnered with MOCA, The Broad Museum, LA County, The City of West Hollywood, CalArts, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Long Beach, USC, LA LGBT Center, LA Pride, Seattle Pride, Tacoma Pride, Palms Springs Pride, DTLA Proud.
